A member of the Firkidja di Púbis Movement, which held this Saturday, November 1st, a rally in Lisbon against the Guinean President, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, denounced “the kidnapping” of 12 activists in Guinea-Bissau, who were going to organize a protest in Bissau.
Yussef spoke to the Lusa agency on the sidelines of concentration which today brought together a few dozen people in Largo de São Domingos, in Rossio, in Lisbon, against what they classify as the “Sissoco dictatorship”.
This The initiative in Lisbon was scheduled in parallel with another planned for the capital Bissau, promoted by the Movimento Revolucionário Pó de Terra (MRPT).
According to Yussef, the 12 elements allegedly kidnapped belonged to the MRPT.
“We obtained information this morning that 12 members of this organization [MRPT] they had been kidnapped and this kidnapping was carried out by the militias of Mr. Umaro Sissoco Embaló”these.
And he added: “Since February 27, 2020, until today, on a regular basis, we have been witnessing the kidnappings of politicians, trade unionists, activists, from the moment they express their indignation against the dictatorship that is being installed in Guinea-Bissau”.
