Vance Boelter, the man accused of carrying out the political assassination of a US lawmaker and her husband, had his home raided by federal agents who discovered a slew of concerning items ranging from firearms to fake police cars.
Earlier this month, US Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were gunned down inside their home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Just a few miles away, Vance Boelter allegedly tried to carry out a similar attack on Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette. John and Yvette were lucky to escape with their lives, as were the other politicians on Vance’s alleged hit list.
Vance Boelter’s home was raided by police
When federal search warrants were carried out this week, FOX 9 reported on the unsealed documents and the evidence found at Vance Boelter’s home in Green Isle, around a 50-minute drive from Minneapolis. Police searched inside the house, the outbuilding, and the dumpster, discovering the following items:
- Notes on officials’ names and states
- 11 guns in the basement
- Three guns in the main floor safe
- 31 guns in a safe room
- A plastic tote with rifle magazines, ammunition, and miscellaneous objects
- A tub of ammo
- $17,940 in US currency
- Various laptops and computer towers
In the outbuilding, police reportedly found masks, two pistols, ammo, and a ghillie suit, while in the dumpster, they discovered a firearm target, a cardboard silhouette, packaging for firearm holsters, and an empty knife box. He also had 12 vehicles registered at the property.
A second home and storage unit were also searched

Vance Boelter also owned a Minneapolis residence on Freemont Avenue, which he is said to have visited after allegedly killing the lawmakers in their homes. This, alongside a search of a storage locker in the city, turned up:
- An additional “retired squad” car with broken windows
- Notes and papers
- Lists of targets
- A duffle bag with five body bags
- Gun cases
- Gun cleaning supplies
- Menards bag with grey tarp
A search of Melissa Hortman’s home also turned up items
Documents viewed by FOX also showcased the various items found around the home of Melissa Hortman, one of Vance Boelter’s alleged victims who was killed alongside her husband.
Items found included:
- A partially loaded magazine was found in the woods nearby
- A light brown wig and full-head mask in the same woods
- A bulletproof vest
- Two sleep masks
- A replica gun was found
- Gun holster
- A conceal and carry badge
Items also found in the vehicle left at Melissa’s house included several firearms, three of which were AK-47s, and cartridge casings.
