Mexico. – A gang of express kidnappers that operated in CDMX, led by elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), It was dismantled after a joint operation carried out by the capital and Edomex, which left eight people detained, including three police officers who would have used official patrols to commit crimes.

The case was uncovered after the report of a man kidnapped by uniformed officers who were traveling in an official unit on April 26, in the streets of the Iztapalapa mayor’s office, where they transferred her to two private vehicles in which they moved him while they pressured his family to pay the ransom.

Although once the money was received the man was released, an investigation file was opened that ended up revealing a criminal network infiltrated in the police corporation thanks to the monitoring of video surveillance cameras and financial analysis that allowed the identification of those involved in the kidnapping and the collection of the ransom.

The arrest warrants were executed in an operation by federal authorities, who captured four people responsible in the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office, two of them members of the SSC secured with ten cell phones and a private vehicle; Another man, owner of one of the bank accounts where the deposits were made, was arrested in Iztapalacraand another SSC agent fell in the municipality of Ecatepec, along with two more people related to the financial operations of the kidnapping.

All those involved were transferred to a penitentiary center in the east of the city, under charges of illegal deprivation of liberty in the form of aggravated express kidnapping, while authorities investigate more cases of extortion and express kidnappings that according to them would be related to this criminal network.

IN THE SIGHT
The capital’s Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the investigations remain open and that the money routes will be followed up, as well as other similar complaints.

ASSETS
The collusion of more officials and authorities in the gang is not ruled out.

METHODS OF WORKING
During the time he was deprived of his liberty, the kidnappers managed to communicate with an acquaintance of the victim, whom they pressured until he made several bank deposits to different accounts.
