Percy Tau in advanced talks to join new club!

Percy Tau has been released by Qatar SC in what has sent a multitude of clubs into high alert.

Clubs both in South Africa and abroad are rumoured to be watching Tau’s situation closely for next season.

Tau a free agent

Tau only joined Qatar SC in January from Al Ahly, in what has proven to be an extremely short stint. The South African international played just 10 times for the club, in an injury ravaged spell. He failed to find the back of the net during his time there, but was able to register four assists in the process.

Tau proved to be one of several exits announced by the club on Thursday, including head coach Mehdi Natfi. Several other players; Ben Malango, Javi Martinez, Badr Benoun, Carlinhos Vinicius and Ahmed Abdelkader, who’s loan ends and returns to Al Ahly. It now remains to be seen where the Lion of Judah ends up next as he becomes a free agent.

In advanced talks to join Zamalek

Before signing for Qatar, there had been rumours of interest in Iran, North Africa as well as South Africa. Now according to Soccer-Laduma, Tau is in advanced talks to join Zamalek

“There have been bounds of speculation about where the forward will end up, with Premier Soccer League sides such as Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs linked with the Bafana Bafana star. However, rumours have been just as strong about a potential return to Egypt, and according to North African publication Dostor, he is in “advanced negotiations” with North African outfit Zamalek. Tau arrived in Doha from Al Ahly. However, prior to the move to Qatar, it was alleged that the White Knights were extremely keen on signing the player. Now it seems the move is getting close to completion, as Tau is not the only former Red Devils star poised for a dramatic switch to their arch-rivals.” Wrote the publication.
