They indict John Bolton, his former National Security Advisor and one of his biggest critics

A federal jury in the United States has indicted this Thursday John Boltonformer National Security Advisor to Donald Trump, and now facing him, for “misuse of classified information”, as reported by the Department of Justice.

The former advisor is accused of eight counts of transmitting national defense information and 10 of withholding it.

Bolton now become an enemy of Trumpwas charged in a federal court in Maryland after Justice requested it after launching an investigation into some notes he had written in his personal email, CNN reported.

The former advisor allegedly used his email to write daily summaries of his activities in the White House, as a personal diary, while serving as National Security Advisor during the first Trump Administration (2017-2021).

The former advisor is expected to attend the federal court in Greenbelt, Maryland, starting this Friday.

Trump’s reaction

For his part, Trump attacked Bolton after learning the news from a question from a reporter in the Oval Office.

“I didn’t know that. But I think He is a bad person. What a pity. “This is how things go,” Trump declared.

The lengthy indictment against Bolton describes that as an official transcribed messages proving that he knew they were top secret government secretsaccording to the court document.

“The FBI investigation revealed that John Bolton allegedly transmitted top-secret information using personal online accounts and He kept these documents in his housewhich is a direct violation of federal law,” said FBI Director Kash Patel.

Attorney General Pam Bondi commented: “No one is above the law.”

Bolton is the third former senior official critical of Trump against whom an indictment has been opened in less than a month.

First he was former director of the FBI James Comey, formally charged with obstructing Congress and carrying out false statements, while the attorney general of New York, Letitia Jamesfaces federal charges for alleged bank fraud and document falsification.
