The United States (US) Army launched this Thursday an attack on a sixth ship in the Caribbean Seaopened from the coast of Venezuela, according to officials cited by the North American media.
The attack on a sixth vessel – as part of a campaign that the President of the USA Donald Trump justifies with the fight against drug trafficking – was carried out by members of the Southern Command of the US army, according to officials quoted on television CBS.
O attack was not, contrary to what is usual, announced by Trump on social mediabut rather confirmed by various government officialswhich guaranteed that there were still survivors.
This is the first report of its kind, since 27 citizens from Venezuela, Colombia and Trinidad and Tobago died in the attacks on the other five vessels, without any survivors.
The Trump administration has not yet presented lawmakers with evidence that the boats targeted in the series of fatal attacks were, in fact, carrying narcoticsaccording to two US officials familiar with the matter, who asked the Associated Press news agency not to be identified.
