The Committee of Families of Political Prisoners in the West Bank expressed its deep concern about the escalation of arrest campaigns carried out by the Palestinian Authority’s security services against liberated prisoners.
In a statement yesterday, Sunday, the committee considered that these measures fall within the framework of what it described as a “revolving door policy” between the Israeli occupation prisons and the Authority’s prisons.
The committee said that the Preventive Security Service arrested the freed prisoner Musab Qawzah from the city of Tulkarm after raiding his house and assaulting his family members, before transferring him to an unknown destination.
She explained that Qozah was liberated only about a week ago from Israeli occupation prisons as part of the Al-Aqsa Flood deal, and is still suffering from the effects of torture and starvation.

“Serving the objectives of the occupation”
The statement added that these practices represent “a blatant violation of human rights and an attack on the dignity of liberated prisoners and their families.”
The committee noted that these measures “serve the occupation’s goals of breaking the will of the prisoners and undermining their steadfastness.”
The committee held the Palestinian Authority fully responsible for the safety of the editor, Qozah, and demanded his immediate release and an end to what it described as the “policy of political detention.”
In a related context, local sources in Nablus reported that the Palestinian security services arrested the freed prisoner, Ahmed Khalil Hafez Abu Ghadib (57 years old), after forcefully removing him from his vehicle and assaulting him in the municipal service complex.
Salfit also witnessed a protest by the families of the political detainees Abdullah Younis and the two brothers Abdul Rahman and Musaab Al-Bishr in front of the governorate building.
The Committee for the Families of Political Prisoners confirmed that these arrests represent “a violation of the Palestinian national fabric and a contradiction with the values of justice and freedom that the Palestinian people are fighting for.”
