In its text, the embassy says that “Today, October 20, the government of Japan “has decided to provide emergency aid (including hygiene items) through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in response to the damage caused by floods in the United Mexican States, in accordance with the request made by its Government.”

The diplomatic representation in Mexico, headed by Kozo Honsei, says that “Taking into account the humanitarian perspective and the close friendly relations with the United Mexican States, Japan has decided to provide emergency assistance to support those affected by the disaster.”
In recent days, also on his social networks, Ambassador Honsei published a message for all those affected by the disaster: “I would like to express my affection and wishes for a speedy recovery, as well as a message of encouragement and hope, to the people affected by the recent floods in the states of Veracruz, Hidalgo, Puebla, San Luis Potosí and Querétaro. “The Japanese people are always close to Mexico.”

What happened in Mexico?
A few days ago, Intense rains wreaked havoc in various states of Mexico, leaving floods, landslides and the overflowing of rivers and dams. Sheinbaum’s government will allocate 10 thousand million pesos to address damages
This day, during “La Mañanera del pueblo”, the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, said that her government continues in the urgent care phase after the rains and floods in eastern and central states of the country, but she announced that she is already preparing a national reconstruction plan in which 10 billion pesos will be invested.

The President assured that they continue working to respond to the emergency, “there are still communities, localities that do not have the land crossing and we continue working, cleaning the homes and guaranteeing the recovery of communication.”
He explained that more than 52 thousand people participate in the relief efforts among the Armed Forces, the Federal Government, state authorities and volunteers.
Also, he explained that the official strategy is made up of four axes, which are attention to the emergency; direct support to affected families; reconstruction; and strengthening the risk warning and prevention system.
