Tequila in self defense – Bundlezy

Tequila in self defense

Hundreds of agave growers and rural organizations, such as the Mexican Agave Council and the Agave Barzón, have demanded that powers be withdrawn from the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT) chaired by Aurelio López Rocha for practices that they consider monopolistic and contrary to article 28 of the constitution.

For this reason, they ask the Ministry of Economy to develop a scheme where the CRT does not act as judge and party in the certification of this iconic drink, marginalizing small producers and benefiting the large consortia in the sector.

The expectation is that the General Directorate of Standards, headed by Lilian Aurora Pérez Ornelas, takes firm steps to open competition in certification, because it has that power.

The tequila case is not only a matter of the Jalisco countryside, it is a symbol of the contradiction between speech and action. Eradicating monopolies — starting with those that dress in tradition and national pride — would be the best way to demonstrate that the 4T wants to fundamentally transform the way the economy is done in Mexico.

The agave trees see in the program Made in Mexico a possibility of integration to all sectors of the tequila industry.

WHISPERING

  1. Mexico’s logistics future already operates in ports such as Veracruz, Manzanillo and Lázaro Cárdenas. At the XXIX AMANAC Congress, Hutchison Ports México, led by Jorge Magno Lecona, presented its nGen Terminal Operating System (TOS), a platform that incorporates artificial intelligence, predictive analysis and digital control to guide remote cranes, autonomous vehicles and digital control centers. According to the port operator, the goal is clear: 54% fewer CO₂ emissions by 2030. Today they are already at 27%. While the country moves more than 272 million tons per year, these platforms are not a promise: they are a requirement to compete in a global market dominated by efficiency and automation.
  2. In March 2025, the organizers of the electronic music festival, called AFTERLIFE, announced the cancellation of the event that would take place in May. This festival, born in Ibiza and with editions in cities such as New York, Amsterdam, Tulum and São Paulo, caused great disappointment in Mexico. The ticketing company FULLPASS has been in charge of making refunds to electronic music fans who bought their tickets. For this reason, they tell Profeco that they are willing to continue collaborating with them to address the rights of consumers and they specify that at this moment 200 cases are pending solution and not 400 as announced by the officials of the Attorney General’s Office.
  3. The Presidential Commission for Electoral Reform, as announced by Pablo Gómez, is advancing in the work entrusted by Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum, to listen to all voices. In the Chamber of Deputies there are voices calling for all parties and representations to be called together. Representative Noemí Luna, vice coordinator of the PAN, put the issue of overrepresentation on the table.
