PROGRESO.— On Monday morning the week of festivities for the “Chicago Martyrs” primary school, that in this present month celebrates 100 years of existence.
The first activity, as scheduled, was a walk that began in the Meteorite Museumon the traditional boardwalk. From that point the children, teachers and parents walked to the school, on 81st Street between 84th and 86th Streets in the Center.
All the children received a medal for their participation and at the end of the tour, they were able to participate in a physical activation macro class.
This activity was just the beginning, since throughout this week other dynamics are expected to take place that will add to the celebrations.
Tomorrow, Wednesday the 22nd, the award ceremony will take place at school. “Letters, Anecdotes and Stories from my School” contest. The participants sent their works since last Friday the 10th.
On Thursday the 23rd, at 7 pm, the Cultural Night which will feature the participation of former students of the school, as well as artists from the port.
A parade and representation of founding henequeneros of the campus is scheduled for Friday the 24th at 7 in the morning.
The start of the parade will be at the school facilities, at the end of which there will be a demonstration of school talents.
On Sunday the 26th, the anniversary celebrations will conclude with a flourish with a dinner and dance that will even feature live music. Assistance is expected from Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena in this celebration as godfather of the anniversary celebrations.
