O International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced this Tuesday that it had successfully transferred 15 bodies of Palestinians from Israel to the Gaza Strip, as part of the ceasefire agreement.
The ceasefire agreement, mediated by Washington and other Arab countries, predicts that Israel returns 15 Palestinian bodies for every deceased Israeli hostage handed over by Hamas.
This Tuesday the Israeli Government announced that it had identified the 13th hostage returned by the Palestinian group, on Monday.
The Gaza Ministry of Health also confirmed that received 15 unidentified bodies, bringing to 165 the total number of dead returned to Gaza since the truce came into forcemost of which are still unidentified.
Nonetheless, the Gaza authorities denounced delays in the delivery of humanitarian aid, stating that only 986 trucks have entered the territory since the signing of the agreement, “well below the 6600 that should have entered by October 20th”, according to a statement from the local press office.
The trains included 14 trucks with cooking gas and 28 with fuel destined for hospitals, bakeries and generators, but authorities warn of a serious shortage of essential goods, accusing Israel of maintaining a “policy of strangulation and humanitarian blackmail”.
