Chiefs Star Travis Kelce Drops Exciting Personal News

Six Flags just changed forever. We’re not talking about getting new rides, we’re talking about ANA Partners (“JANA”) partnering with championship-winning tight end Travis Kelce, as well as consumer executive Glenn Murphy and technology executive Dave Habiger, to invest in Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.

According to a press release released by PR Newswire, this new team how has an economic interest of around 9 percent, so they’re among Six Flags’ biggest shareholders. The stake is worth around $200 million, according to the Wall Street Journal.

“I am a lifelong Six Flags fan and grew up going to these parks with my family and friends,” Kelce said in a statement. “The chance to help make Six Flags special for the next generation is one I couldn’t pass up.”

“We look forward to working with the Six Flags board and management to unlock shareholder value for the benefit of all stakeholders,” JANA Managing Partner Scott Ostfeld added.

JANA Partners was founded in 2001 by Barry Rosenstein. JANA “invests in undervalued public companies and engages with management teams and boards to unlock value for shareholders,” according to a release.

So, Six Flags is getting a major upgrade, and Kelce is going to make it cool again. Not that Six Flags wasn’t cool before, but this will help. Kelce could even become the public “face” of Six Flags and help make it an even more recognizable brand.

The news already caused Six Flags stock to soar 17 percent after the Kelce news, according to Yahoo Finance. The current version of Six Flags was created in 2024 in an $8 billion merger between Six Flags and Cedar Fair, offering a theme park haven that spreads across the country.

Habiger is an “accomplished technology and media executive who brings decades of leadership experience across multiple global companies,” according to a release. Murphy is an “accomplished consumer executive who brings a 30-year track record of strategic and operational leadership across multiple major global brands.”

In other news, for the spooky season, Six Flags America is hosting is Kids Boo Fest, “the ultimate Halloween celebration for little monsters and scaredy-cats alike,” according to the park.

“With themed areas including a new “Boo Zone,” new glowing blacklight trick-or-treat trail, nine live shows, a spooktacular parade and loads of interactive fun, this Boo Fest is bursting with thrills (minus the chills),” the park states on their official website. “From festive street entertainment to thrilling rides, it’s a bewitching adventure that’s all treat, no trick.”
