The Rayados beat Bravos de Juárez 4-2 without complications in the “Steel Giant” to reach 30 points and place themselves in third place overall.
With goals from Gerardo Arteaga (8′), Sergio Canales (38′), Germán Berterame (56′) and Joaquín Moxica (78′), Monterrey gave a great display at home, where they got back on track after having tied the previous day against Pumas.
Despite a slight reaction from the visit with goals from Ricardinho and Monteiro, after inattention from the Albiazul defense, Monterrey took the victory.
Their next match will be a clash against Cruz Azul, a team that they moved to fourth place today and that will seek to recover ground, on Saturday at 9:05 p.m.
Monterrey started with great rhythm and dynamics on the field, finding the winning goal just eight minutes into the match.
The albiazules wove a play from the right, so that Lucas Ocampos took a high cross that Arteaga finished off with a header to the far post, to make it 1-0 for the Pandilla.
Bravos showed danger in the 18th minute, but Guilherme Castilho did not connect well with a cross from the left, so the opportunity for the border team to tie was lost.
Rayados had more of the ball and generated greater danger on the goal defended by Sebastián Jurado, increasing the advantage in the 38th minute, after a good collective play.
The Monterrey team came out playing at speed from below, Berterame took the ball to near the crescent of the area, where it left it for Canales, who took a relentless left-footed cross, making it 2-0 for the locals.
The second half started with intensity on the part of the albiazules and Ocampos was close to scoring in the 48th minute, but his shot went just wide of the right post.
In another high-speed split from the left, Berterame scored his ninth goal of the tournament and, although it was first disallowed offside, after the silent review in the VAR, whistler Iván Antonio López determined that the score was valid for 3-0, at 58′.
The changes came to refresh the defense and the attack, with which Joaquín Moxica, Anthony Martial entered and Carlos Salcedo made his debut with Rayados, falling 4-0 at 79′ through the youth squad Moxica, who made his debut in the First Division.
Juárez scored in the final minutes through Ricardo Oliveira to make it 4-1 and with Madson to make it 4-2, but the victory and the three points already had an owner on the field of the #Steel Giant.”
