Coca-Cola withdraws three drinks from the market due to risk of metal contamination

The Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages company is recalling almost 4,300 units of its key products such as Coca Cola Zero, regular Coca Cola and Sprite due to the risk of metal contamination. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a Class II classification notice for the recall, disclosing the details of the case.

The recall is limited to Texas, several lots of popular canned carbonated beverages, for a total of 4,228 package units (1,115 of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, 2,322 of Coca-Cola regular and 791 of Sprite Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Coca-Cola and Sprite. The drinks were distributed in various package formats (12, 24 and 35 cans).

The recall began on October 3, 2025, and the central classification was given on October 20, 2025. In terms of Food Safety, it is important to remember that the Class II classification due to the possible presence of foreign material (metal), indicates that theUse or exposure to the product may cause reversible or remotely probable health consequences, but still requires immediate attention. The presence of metal in a drink is a risk of laceration or suffocation.

The expiration dates are between February and June 2026.
