On the afternoon of this Wednesday, October 22, the head of the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, reported that another person was detained by the murdered Bernardo Bravo Manríquez, leader of lemon producers from Apatzingán, Michoacán.
“I want to take this opportunity to mention that a few moments ago, the authorities of Michoacán, in coordination with the Security Cabinet, made another arrest in this unfortunate homicide.”said the official during his appearance before the plenary session of the Senate of the Republic.
The secretary assured that the operations of the Security Cabinet, in coordination with the Michoacán authorities, will continue to find all those responsible for the murder of Bravo Manríquez:
“Operations will increase until all those responsible for this unfortunate homicide and many others in this region are arrested.”he indicated.
The leader of the Association of Lemon Producers of the Apatzingán Valley was found dead on the morning of Monday, October 20, on a road that leads to the Los Tepetates community, in Michoacán.
His body, which was inside his own vehicle, showed signs of torture.
The first investigations indicate that Bravo Manríquez was deprived of his liberty by armed individuals this Sunday afternoon on the edge of the municipal capital.
Last Monday, Harfuch reported the arrest of Rigoberto “N”, alleged mastermind of the murder of Bernardo Bravo, in an operation in Michoacán, led by elements of the National Defense, the Michoacán Prosecutor’s Office and elements of the security cabinet.
Rigoberto “N” is identified as the operational head of the collection of extortions from citrus growers in the region, at the service of the Los Blancos de Troya criminal cell, an ally of Los Viagras and the Nueva Generación Cartel.
