Peace negotiations have been stalled since the Russian and Ukrainian delegations met for the last time in Istanbul on July 23.

Trump confirms cancellation of meeting with Putin
Trump confirmed this Wednesday the cancellation of the planned meeting with Vladimir Putin, his Russian counterpart, in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, amid the impasse in talks to end the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
“We canceled the meeting with Putin. It just didn’t seem right to me. It didn’t seem like we were going to get where we needed to, so I canceled it. But we will have it in the future,” he said in statements to the media from the Oval Office, where he was accompanied by the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Mark Rutte.
Likewise, he once again justified his decision of not having acceded to kyiv’s request to deliver Tomahawk missiles and pointed out the complexity of their use as one of the reasons why he has ruled out their delivery.
“The problem with the Tomahawk, which many people don’t know, is that it takes a minimum of six months, usually a year, to learn how to use it. It is extremely complex. The only way for a Tomahawk to be fired is for us to fire it, and we are not going to do that,” he said.
