Sheinbaum highlights “very significant” reduction in robberies in Mexico-Querétaro

Sheinbaum stated that robberies on the Mexico-Querétaro highway have decreased considerably thanks to the “Zero Robbery” operation. He said that this strategy is also applied on other roads and that the future Mexico-Querétaro Train will offer a safer and more efficient option for travelers, reducing accidents and the use of private cars.

Sheinbaum plans to raise an extra 400 million pesos by 2026

The President announced that her government seeks to raise an additional 400 billion pesos in 2026 without creating new taxes. The increase will come from greater control in customs, combating corruption and better tax collection. He clarified that there will only be minor adjustments, such as immigration quotas and updating the IEPS on soft drinks, which he considered more of a health measure than a revenue measure.

The Federal Government reported that the number of dead people increased to 78 and those not located to 23 due to the rains and floods in Hidalgo, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí and Veracruz.
