Bankinter announced this Thursday, October 23rd, profits from 812 million euros in the first nine months of 2025, reflecting an increase of 11% compared to the same period of the previous year.
A The bank’s credit portfolio reached 82.5 billion euros, a growth of 5.3%. In Portugal, the credit portfolio corresponds to 11 billion euros, with an increase of 11%.
Os Bankinter’s pre-tax results in Portugal were 157 million eurosa growth of 2%, while global results before taxes totaled 1,143 million euros. Gross margin, which covers all revenues, reached 2,251 million euros, representing an increase of 4.7% compared to the same period in 2024.

In terms of profitability, Bankinter recorded an ROE (return on equity) of 18.2%, higher than the value of 17.9% recorded in 2024, and a ROTE of 19.4%. The capital and solvency ratios also showed positive results, with a CET1 capital ratio of 12.94%, which represents an increase of 38 basis points compared to the previous year’s value and almost five percentage points above the minimum regulatory requirement required by the European Central Bank (ECB), which is 7.95%.
“The fall in the accumulated interest margin is offset by the growth of other activities, such as asset management, stock market intermediation, corporate transactional business or insurance, which recorded particularly positive performances. All of these high added value activities generate greater commission income”, stated the bank.
O housing credit was also mentioned, with Bankinter’s mortgage portfolio reaching 38 billion euros, a growth of 5% compared to the previous year, surpassing the sector average in the various markets where it operates. The increases were particularly significant in the mortgage portfolio in Ireland, with a growth of 23%, and in Portugal, with an increase of 11%.
