A fan of Keanu Reeves was thrown to the ground after she attempted to break into the actor’s car in New York.

The actor, 61, is currently starring in the Broadway production of Waiting For Godot, alongside Alex Winter and directed by Jamie Lloyd.

After the performance, the actor was spotted leaving the venue and met with fans crowded around the stage door, hoping to greet the actor.

Keanu politely waved at fans as he was ushered by his security into the back of a black SUV. No sooner had the car door shut than a scuffle began as a fan emerged from the crowd and attempted to push past the security.

‘Keanu, it’s your divine wife! Keanu!’ she could be heard saying.

She was pushed away from the car, but then attempted to open the door of the vehicle as it drove away, leading the security team to forcibly move her away from the car and throw her to the ground.

As the car drove away, she then walked away from the scene, but turned back to flip the bird at the security team, before continuing to walk along the centre of the road, shouting after the star.

The actor is not married, but has been in a relationship with Alexandra Grant since 2019.

Just last week at the New York City premiere of his new film Good Fortune, the Matrix star lovingly shut down the speculation that he had tied the knot.

‘Well, that wasn’t the first time,’ he joked, referring to the persistent wedding chatter. ‘We’ve been going out for a long time.’

While she often keeps a lower public profile compared to Reeves, Grant has occasionally given insight into their relationship. In a 2023 interview with People, she said, ‘I feel very confident in the relationship on the red carpet. I feel confident on it alone. It’s interdependent and independent in the best ways.’

According to Elle, Reeves and Grant had been friends since at least 2011, and only later did their bond evolve into romance.

Keanu has previously taken out a temporary restraining order against an alleged stalker in 2023.

A 38-year-old man allegedly stalked, harassed and trespassed on the actor’s property, making repeated uninvited appearances at Reeves’ home, according to documents obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.

It was alleged that the trespasser ‘slept in his back garden’ during one of the six occasions that he visited the star’s home.

In his own statement, Reeves said at the time: ‘Over the past few months, there have been multiple incidents in which the Respondent visited my home uninvited, trespassed onto my property, sought access to my home, and sought to contact me.

‘I understand that there is an ongoing criminal investigation against Respondent due to his disturbing conduct.

‘Respondent’s harassing, disturbing and threatening actions, which are ongoing, are causing me to be substantially alarmed, annoyed, and distressed, including because I want to protect my partner and friends who reside or spend time at my home.’
