The NBA faces a new scandal after figures such as Terry Rozier and Chauncey Billups were arrested for their alleged relationship with illegal betting.

Los Angeles, October 23 (LaOpinión).- Terry Rozierplayer of the Miami Heaty Chauncey Billups, coach of the Portland Trail Blazershave been arrested for being linked to cases of bets illegal.
In addition to Rozier y Billupsfour other people were reportedly arrested in connection with the investigation.
Rozier’s arrest would have occurred after the Miami Heat were defeated on Wednesday night by the Orlando Magic, in the first game of the two teams in the new NBA season.
ESPN He said Rozier was arrested early Thursday morning at an Orlando hotel.

Rozier had been under suspicion since 2023, after a series of irregular bets were detected before the game between the Charlotte Hornets and the New Orleans Pelicans, when the player was in Charlotte.
Hall of Famer Chauncey Billups arrested and linked to long-running gambling ring
Billups has been the head coach of the Blazers since 2021. Previously, Billups played in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons and is a member of the NBA Hall of Fame.
According to ESPNBillups’ arrest came along with that of 30 people, in an investigation that lasted more than a year and involved 11 states.
Billups is expected to make his first court appearance Thursday. Former Cleveland Cavaliers player and assistant coach Damon Jones was arrested Thursday.

According to investigations, Jones gave inside information about NBA games to his co-defendants, who used it in sports betting.
Jones played 11 years in the NBA, on 10 different teams during his career.
Four months ago, authorities arrested another NBA player, Gilbert Arenas, accused of organizing illegal poker games in his home.
