Yucatán Xmatkuil 2025 Fair, with free circus: what will the show be?

MÉRIDA.- The free circus shows They return this year to the Yucatan Xmatkuil Fair. They will be in charge of the Bam Bam brand of the Ramirez Brothers, a Yucatecan family that in the last 20 years has taken their show throughout the Peninsula.

“It is a very complete show, for the whole family, with 12 continuous circus acts,” says Darko Ramírez, company administrator. The businessman details that the main attraction will be the “Angels of the Trapeze”.

In this number the acrobats fly in the dark, illuminated with ultraviolet light. “Unique in Mexico,” describes the promotional poster. “It looks very nice, it is a spectacular act,” details the interviewee.

The show lasts one hour and 20 minutes, during which time the audience will be able to enjoy several traditional circus acts and others created recently.

There are jugglers, contortionists, tightrope walkers, antipodists (who juggle with their feet), dancers and the inevitable musical clowns. “They are also very good. There is a clown and her group, and they make the audience laugh a lot,” adds the administrator.

The production includes around 30 people, of which 20 will be artists on stage, most of them Yucatecans.

Performance times are yet to be confirmed, but there will be performances every day. From Monday to Friday there will be a show in the morning for those who go on school visits and in the afternoon, another for the general public.

Saturday and Sunday there will be two more shows per day, open to the public. All presentations will be free.

“It is a very fun show, there are no blank spaces. It is act after act, without breaks. There is no chance of getting bored,” says Ramírez when inviting the public to attend.

This announcement implies the return of the free circus shows to the fair. Last year the ice circus directed by “Roncally Productions“, which was also in the 2018, 2016 and 2013 editions. Every time that show was with charged tickets.

With the exception of 2024, in all the years mentioned the fairgrounds had two circuses, since the Forever Circus de Pope Popea firm that until 2023 and for 17 years presented its show at the fairgrounds.
