Positioning of Canaco Merida on the redesign of Paseo de Montejo

The National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Canaco-Servytur) of MéridaYucatán, affirms that there must be dialogue between authorities and citizens about the proposals for the road redesign of the Paseo de Montejo avenue.

This week Jorge Carrillo Sáenzpresident of Tourism Business Council (Cetur) and of the Paseo de Montejo Foundationreported that in a meeting with the Governor of Yucatán, Joaquín Díaz Menathey did three proposals: remove the beds with planters from both bodies of Paseo de Montejo, reactivate the State Road Council, and design a comprehensive project to make this emblematic avenue.

Now, the Canaco-Servytur of Mérida says that last week he met with the competent authorities to analyze the approaches related to the road redesign of Paseo de Montejo, particularly with the proposal to eliminate the central flowerbeds to improve vehicular circulation and mobility in the area.

The Camera welcomes the efforts to recover the splendor and functionality of this emblematic avenue, affirms the group, which presides Jose Enrique Molina Casares.

But, he adds, he underlines the importance of any modification being carried out with technical planning, citizen dialogue and without generating disproportionate effects on formal commerce.

Likewise, the Canaco-Servytur says that it reiterates its willingness to actively participate in the technical table or advisory council that arises from this initiative, providing information, proposals and the experience of the business sector to contribute to a more orderly, accessible Paseo de Montejo worthy of Yucatecan pride, which at the same time favors better mobility and greater economic dynamism in the area.
