Federal and state authorities arrested seven people in Tijuana, after an inspection in which it was discovered that they possessed weapons for the exclusive use of the Army.
Mexico City, October 25 (However).- A group of seven alleged members of organized crime were arrested in Tijuana, Baja Californiaafter security elements detected that these people were carrying with them weapons for exclusive use of Army.
According to information released by the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) in a joint statementthe arrest occurred as a result of “recognition, security and surveillance tours” that agents carried out in Tijuana, during which they observed a van with license plates of California, United States.
The report indicates that five people were on board the vehicle, while two others were on foot. “When they were stopped, they adopted an evasive attitude, so to rule out any illegal activity, a security inspection was carried out,” detailed the SSPC.

After searching the truck, five long weapons and two short weapons were found inside, so the seven people were arrested.
“The detainees were informed of their legal rights and together with what was secured they were placed at the disposal of the corresponding Public Ministry agent, who will determine their legal situation,” the agency noted.
On social networks, the Security Cabinet, made up of the SSPC, the Secretariat of National Defense (Defense), the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and the National Guard (GN), shared some images of the weapons seized in this action, as well as two of the detainees.
In Tijuana, Baja California, in an operation coordinated with @Defensamx1, @SEMAR_mx, @FGRMexico, @GN_MEXICO_, @SSPCMexico and the State Security Force, 7 people with 7 firearms were arrested and a vehicle with California license plates was seized.
