Roy Schwartz wrote in the British newspaper The Guardian that Trump’s envoys to Israel are focusing on preventing the collapse of the truce without presenting a clear vision for the next stage.

He explained that Washington is content with temporary attempts at calm in light of the escalation of Israeli attacks and the increasing calls within the Knesset to expand the war.

The writer pointed out that the Israeli media ignores Palestinian civilian losses and misses the humanitarian dimension, which weakens the chances of a settlement and deepens hostility.

He considered that continued American ambiguity could lead to the collapse of what remains of Trump’s peace plan unless concrete steps are taken for the next stage.

As for the French newspaper Liberation, it described what happened as “American forcing” of Netanyahu to silence the sound of weapons in Gaza, noting that Trump used a mixture of intimidation and strong warnings during a phone call with Netanyahu on October 4th.

The newspaper quoted Trump as saying, “You cannot fight the world. You can fight individual battles, but the world is against you,” and considered that this call was decisive in ending military operations.
