A comedy icon is in advanced talks to take part in this year’s line-up of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
Ruby Wax, 72, is being lined up as a major star for this year to fly out to Australia for the hit ITV reality show next month.
The actress found fame as a brash comedian and interviewer through her celebrity interviews and documentaries in the 1990s.
A source told The Sun: ‘Ruby’s a proper TV legend and adds real gravitas to this year’s line-up.
‘She’s interviewed some of the biggest stars in the world so will have no problem getting to know her fellow campmates.

‘It will make great TV for viewers.’
Ruby gained notoriety in the 1985 sitcom Girls on Top, which starred Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders and Tracey Ullman.
She then went on to become a comic interviewer on her BBC show Ruby Wax Meets… on BBC, where she grilled stars such as Tom Hanks, Pamela Anderson and Sharon Stone.
In terms of entering the jungle, the British-American does have previous experience on reality shows, spending ten days on a remote island for Channel 5’s Ruby Wax: Cast Away in 2023.
This comes after soap legends, Premier League footballers and a huge Love Island star were rumoured to be in the running to become potential campmates.
Potential campmates this year include Tommy Fury, Patsy Palmer and EastEnders star Shona McGarty.
With it now not being long to go until the new series kicks off, Ant and Dec will join a fresh cast of celebs hoping to follow on from Danny Jones to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle.
Last year’s winner was joined in the jungle by stars including Coleen Rooney, GK Barry, Oti Mabuse, Melvin Odoom, Tulisa and Rev. Richard Coles.
The action is set to get underway in Australia in November, with the show usually running into December.
I’m A Celebrity is set to return this autumn on ITV. I’m A Celebrity All Stars will be back in 2026.
