Pope Leo XIV prayed for the Mexican communities affected by the rains during the month of October.
From the Vatican, the pontiff expressed his solidarity with those affected by the floods in eastern Mexico and at the same time, he prayed for the fatalities of the historic floods recorded this month in our country.

The words of the prayer were also shared on the social networks of the highest pontiff with the following message:
“I want to express my closeness to the populations of eastern Mexico, which have been affected in these days by a flood. I pray for the families and for all those who suffer because of this calamity, and I commend to the Lord, through the intercession of the Holy Virgin, the souls of the deceased,” he indicated.
In addition, during the Angelus massLeón expressed empathy for the people affected by the floods and invited the Catholic community to pray for the victims.
On the other hand, he invited people to pray the Holy Rosary for the victims of war, hunger and the suffering of women, children, the elderly and the sick who experience calamities daily.
Finally, Pope Leo XIV gave a greeting to the Reparatory Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus who this year celebrate the 150th anniversary of their foundation.
The rains recorded in Veracruz, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí and Hidalgowhich lasted more than a week, left 80 people dead and 18 missing, in addition to numerous damages to infrastructure and homes.
