Love Island USA star Olandria is getting some serious backlash for starting a TikTok challenge that some are calling “problematic” which revolves around putting sunglasses around your waist.
In the TikTok challenge, Love Island USA star Olandria can be seen putting a pair of sunglasses on her wait, with her waist being smaller than the sunglasses.

And she’s now being called out for the trend, with people claiming it’s “problematic” and could make others feel insecure about themselves if they’re not able to fit sunglasses around themselves.
One TikToker explained that some people think that “skinny people are allowed to have body positivity as well” whilst others “feel like the trend is toxic and that it’s giving body checking.”
One person commented on the trend on X, writing: “You’d have to be bone stupid to not understand how a challenge to put sunglasses around your waist is problematic, especially in the current climate.
“Being thin isn’t an achievement to be revered. Like even the reactions to the backlash were so abnormal.”
However, others have come to her defence, saying that Olandria has always been very upfront about her waist being natural and that she should be able to show off her figure without making others feel bad.

The Love Island USA star herself has commented on the discourse over the sunglasses waist challenge via TikTok, with Olandria saying: “I love all body types. I’m not encouraging nobody to look a certain way. I always encourage people to be the best version of themselves.”
