BNP Paribas’ profit fell 1.2% up to September, year-on-year, to 9,253 million euros, penalized by the first half, as from July to September it increased 6.1% to 3,044 million.
In a statement released this Tuesday, the 28th, the French bank reports an improvement in EBITDA (earnings before taxes, interest, amortization and depreciation) of 4.5% between January and September, to 15,011 million euros, and an increase in revenues of 3.9% to 38,110 million.
The profitability of BNP Paribas’ own funds was 11.4% in the first three quarters of the year, with the solvency level standing at 12.5% on September 30, measured by the CET1 ratio.
According to the bank, the 6.1% increase in profit in the third quarter is in line with the objective of exceeding 12,200 million in the 2025 financial year as a whole.
From July to September, EBITDA increased by 4.9%, to 4,959 million euros, while revenues rose 5.3% in absolute values, to 12,569 million euros.
Revenues include, for the first time, the results resulting from the integration of AXA Investmen Managers (AXA IM), purchased from the insurance company AXA.
Excluding this new activity, revenue growth in the third quarter was 3.5% in absolute terms and 4.9% excluding exchange rate variations.
