Ever since August 2024, two of the sky’s most influential planets in astrology, Jupiter and Saturn, have been in a tense cosmic tussle – one which has created much frustration.
At times, it may have felt as though we were walking through a deep field of glue, whether energy-wise or in relation to our hopes.
Fortunately, this week Jupiter and Saturn start to put these differences to one side and begin working together for our collective good. Ironically, while they have made the last 18 months very tricky, they can now create a much more constructive vibe from now until July 2027.
During this time, they will forge three exact Trines, or 120-degree angles, one of astrology’s most enabling and helpful aspects. This week, they are close enough in touch (within one degree) to really make a difference.
Adding more good news to the mix, sharp Mercury and passionate Mars in Scorpio support them positively, forging what’s known as a Grand Water Trine – between Jupiter in Cancer, Mercury and Mars in Scorpio, and Saturn in Pisces.
The Water element is very much about how we feel, our instincts, and our need for security and protection. That doesn’t mean we can’t take action – especially with Mars’s bold involvement – but we do need to be guided by our gut feelings.

So, if you have a Water sign Sun, Ascendant, or Moon in Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces, you’ll find it easier to gain traction right through to the middle of February 2026. However, for all zodiac signs, staying mindful of what feels right, rather than just chasing material goals, is a smart thing to do.
But why is this such a big deal? Well, planets all have their own orbits, but they don’t always mesh frequently.
The last time Jupiter and Saturn made this great angle was in January 2008 – a time of a major reset in the financial markets. Jupiter was in its least fortunate position in its cycle, in the Earth sign of Capricorn, which influences business, property and real estate, while Saturn was in the precise Earth sign of Virgo, very much about grappling with the details.
The Earth zodiac signs are about tangibles and the material world – like money – so their combination then teased into the open things that had been over-sold or inflated (very Jupiter) with a dash of reality (very Saturn), as the sub-prime issues were revealed and tighter controls (Saturn) were applied to lending and borrowing.
That they align helpfully from now through to mid-July 2027 is initially going to be a subtle intuitive influence – one where they balance out their worst extremes and excesses. Saturn can be very limiting, while Jupiter can be too carefree and optimistic, so the watery balance they forge from now until the end of June 2026 will bring a reality check, particularly in property valuations.
Cancer, where Saturn currently resides, is about the home, but this influence helps us to become more focused on our emotional wellbeing and inner needs.
However, mark this date in your diary – August 31, 2026 – for from then a completely new energetic reset and fresh beginning will unfold, when they forge their first exact Fire Trine.
By then, Jupiter will have moved into the dynamic, charismatic Leo, and Saturn will be back in Aries, the sign of initiation. Fire loves action, it is inspirational and more risk-taking. So, a new epoch is set to kick in from that time, with fresh beginnings playing out across all our lives.
So, what we are doing now completes a big cycle that began 29 years ago, when Saturn first entered Aries – the first zodiac sign at the start of its symbolic journey through the heavens – and is now reaching the finishing line in the last zodiac sign, of Pisces, that of culmination.
As a result, this period, through to next February, is a time of outcomes and consequences for our collective actions since 1996.
