The jury has already decided: these are the 10 best Lisbon Wines of 2025

The best Wines of Lisbon 2025 are now known. The competition, organized by the Lisbon Region Wine Commission (CVR Lisboa), in addition to the 10 big winners in the different categories in the tasting, also highlighted four TOP 5 and 45 medal winners among the references in the tasting. The competition welcomed more than 150 references, from the different designations of origin of the Lisbon Wine region, submitted to a jury that includes a panel of critics, experts and winemakers.

“This is a competition that once again positions and values ​​the quality, consistency, diversity and identity of Lisbon Wines, one of the great Portuguese regions, an expression of a unique Atlantic character, increasingly recognized in Portugal and in the main export markets”, stated Carlos Fonseca, member of CVR Lisboa when the winners were announced.

Top 10

Best white: Adega da Vermelha Grande Reserva White 2021

It is a DOC Óbidos White Wine, created with the Moscatel Graúdo grape variety. Adega da Vermelha also won a Gold Medal. With a citrus color and aroma of ripe fruit, it should be drunk at a temperature of 14ºC to 15ºC. (PVP: €9,72).

Best Red: AdegaMãe Terroir 2016
Produced by AdegaMãe, with the varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Cabernet Sauvignon, it is ideal as an accompaniment to cheeses and red meats. Very complex, and well-matched with wood. Persistent and long finish. (RPP: €55)

Best Rosé: Romeira Rosé 2024

With a pale pink color and fresh floral aroma, it is produced by Enoport and has a floral, soft and balanced flavor, with an unctuous, firm and fresh finish. It is created with Aragonez, Syrah and Touriga Nacional grape varieties. (RPP: €3.15)

Best Arinto: Quinta do Lagar Novo Arinto 2019
The aroma is that of fresh lime and green apple, with mint nuances. Citrus yellow in color, it is described by TAG Wine as “Elegant White”. Ideal with white meats. Seafood and fish. (RPP: €16.58)

Best Vital: Superior Vital Empathy 2021
The grapes are harvested at the western foot of the Montejunto mountain range. In the glass, this white wine appears fresh and with good acidity, attributes that pair well with fish dishes. It is produced by Adega Cooperativa da Labrugeira. (RPP: €12).

Best Light Lisbon: Azulejo Branco 2024
Extremely fresh and aromatic, with some citrus and tropical notes. It is a very light wine, from Casa Santos Lima, with a refreshing acidity. Ideal partner for simple and healthy dishes. (RPP: €3.50).

Best Sparkling Wine: Quinta Cerrado da Porta Grande Reserva Arinto 2015
Produced by Cerrado da Porta, it is recommended as an aperitif and to accompany oysters, marinades, almost all types of fish, foie-gras and smoked meats. (RPP: €12.50).

Best Fortified Wine: Villa Oeiras Superior White DOP Carcavelos
With the Arinto, Galego Dourado and Ratinho grape varieties, it is produced by the Municipality of Oeiras, aged in Portuguese and French oak barrels, for an average period of 15 years (PVP: Upon request).

Best Late Harvest: Quinta das Marés by Santa Bárbara 2021
From Pedro Santa Bárbara, it is made from a mixture of Jampal and Vital grape varieties. It has the color of ripe lemon and an aroma of great intensity and depth centered on notes of quince and white plum, dried fruits. (€RPV: 21).

Best Wine Brandy: Clássica 32nd Series Aguardente DOC Lourinhã XO
It reveals an unparalleled elegance. Intense aroma, wood, dried fruits, vanilla and spices. In the mouth it is smooth, celebrates the cultural heritage of a unique product, produced by Adega Cooperativa da Lourinhã. (RPP: €53).

At the same time, the Lisbon Wine Competition highlights four Top 5, in four specific categories (Whites, Reds, Arintos, Reds and Light). THE Wine Commission of the Lisbon Region is an interprofessional association, whose mission is to ensure the control, certification and defense, promotion and promotion of wine tourism and Wines in the Lisbon Region.
