“The Cat Under the Rain” was the straw that broke the camel’s back
Rancho Zacatecano Talentoso.- Ángela Aguilar has been officially informed by UNESCO that she is no longer allowed to make any more covers of foreign artists.
After the interpretation of “The cat in the rain”the UN body decided that cultural diplomacy was at risk, so it issued the resolution “for the good of the artistic memory of the planet.”

“We had already tolerated her versions of La Llorona and Amor Eterno, but Rocío Dúrcal’s little song was like a unilateral attack“, explained the head of the organization while adjusting his simultaneous translator to say “enough!”.
The official document details that the ban includes any attempt by Ángela to “reversion, adapt, translate or semi-hum” popular Mexican or international songs, especially if they are well-loved in their place of origin.
The measure was celebrated by millions of Internet users who had promoted the #DéjenlaComponerAlgoSuyo campaign, which reached more than two million signatures in less than 24 hours, despite the fact that Nodal tried to undermine it by giving several “accidentally” live interviews.
Now it turns out that by changing the name of a song you are a writer, they remember that I had told them that if they wanted to hear a good cover, they should listen to Susana Zabaleta performing Cat in the Rain by Rocío Dúrcal.
Well, it turns out that that song is a plagiarism of Angela called… pic.twitter.com/SIw2eA7DVO— POSITIVE VIBE (@VIBRA_P) October 24, 2025
For her part, Ángela Aguilar responded on her Instagram account:
“My music doesn’t need anyone’s approval. But hey, thank you UNESCO for making me trendy again”; So it is expected that at any moment she will release a version of a song by Sabina and Julio Iglesias.
And in case you didn’t see it: the Gun’s & Roses vocalist threw the microphone at his drummer, and everything was recorded.
