According to the Quarterly Report of the State of MexicoIn terms of mobility, from July to September 30 of this year, public transportation in the State of Mexico added a total of 2,117 complaints from users, related to the provision of the service by concessionaires and permit holders. Furthermore, a significant number of these complaints have not been addressed by the State Mobility Secretariat (SEMOV).
Of that total, the information indicates that there are still 821 complaints from public transport users that have not been attended to, that is, 38.78% of the total.
Furthermore, if the information generated in the third quarter of 2024 is analyzed, it can be confirmed that there was an increase in the dissatisfaction of the passengers of the public transport Regarding the service they received: in that period of time, only 1,296 complaints had been registered. That is, the increase was 63.36%.
The number of complaints received against concessionaires, permit holders and drivers also registered an increase when compared to the second quarter of this year, that is, from April to June. In said period, only 1,489 complaints received were registered. The increase between the second and third quarters was 628 complaints.
However, despite the high number of reports against the services of public transport of the State of Mexico, 5,096 in the first three quarters of the year, during the last quarter a price increase was made official for the use of minibuses, combis and transportation operated by the government. Therefore, the Mexican pays more fare while disagreements increase.
In this sense, users claim to feel unprotected due to the lack of response from the authorities, since more than a third of the complaints remain unaddressed.
“We pay more for a service that only gets worse, no one monitors, no one sanctions. The increase in fares should be accompanied by improvements, not more abuse,” the affected neighbors emphasize with frustration.
