Weather TODAY: Cold front 11 and polar air mass will leave low temperatures in these states

The National Meteorological Service reported that for this Tuesday, cold front number 11 will travel through the northwest and north of the Mexican Republic, and will interact with the subtropical jet stream and with a dry line, this will cause showers in Nuevo León and Tamaulipas, and winds with very strong gusts of 65 to 80 km/h in the border states of northeastern Mexico.

The polar air mass associated with the cold front will generate a marked drop in temperatures, with possible frosts in the mountains of the north and northeast of the country.

For its part, low pressure channels over the interior of the national territory, in combination with the entry of humid air from the Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea, Intervals of showers will occur in western, central, eastern, southern and southeastern states of the Mexican Republic, including the Yucatan Peninsula.

A very strong to intense “North” event with gusts of 85 to 100 km/h is also forecast during the early hours of Wednesday. and waves of 2.0 to 3.0 meters high on the north coast of Tamaulipas.

Minimum temperatures from 0 to -5 °C: mountain areas of Durango.

Minimum temperatures from 0 to 5 °C: high areas of Baja California, Chihuahua, Durango, Zacatecas, State of Mexico, Hidalgo (southeast), Tlaxcala and Puebla.

Shower intervals (5 to 25 mm): Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí (Middle and Huasteca regions), Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Hidalgo (Huasteca region), Puebla (Sierra Norte and Sierra Nororiental regions), Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Tamaulipas, Veracruz (Huasteca Alta, Huasteca Baja and Totonaca regions), Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo.

Isolated rain (0.1 to 5 mm): Nayarit, Querétaro (Sierra Gorda region), State of Mexico and Veracruz (Los Tuxtlas and Olmeca regions).
