Intense Israeli bombardment on Rafah, Gaza, and Khan Yunis threatens to collapse the truce news

Israeli gunboats and tanks continued to bomb the coast and waterways of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, at a time when air raids were renewed on various areas in the cities of Gaza and Khan Yunis, in a new violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Sources in Gaza hospitals reported that 21 Palestinians – including 8 children – were killed and at least 50 wounded in Israeli raids on several areas in the Strip.

The Nasser Medical Complex announced the death of a child in a bombing that targeted a residential apartment in the Al-Amal neighborhood, northwest of Khan Yunis, while 3 others – including a girl – were martyred in a raid on a house in the Yarmouk area in central Gaza City, before civil defense crews announced the recovery of the bodies of 4 other martyrs from under the rubble of a house for the Al-Banna family in the Al-Sabra neighborhood.

Eyewitnesses said that rescue crews are facing great difficulties in recovering the missing people due to the continuing bombing and the flight of Israeli warplanes over the Gaza Strip.

Warning to Hamas

On the Israeli side, Channel 12 quoted a senior official as saying that the strikes in Gaza do not aim to collapse the ceasefire, but rather to ensure its implementation, adding that Hamas must fear a return to war.

The channel also revealed that advisors to US President Donald Trump pressured Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to avoid excessive reactions that might blow up the truce, proposing at the same time to issue a stricter US ultimatum to Hamas.

On the other hand, Türkiye strongly condemned the recent Israeli attacks, describing them as a “clear violation of the existing ceasefire between Hamas and Tel Aviv.”

In the midst of these developments, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced the postponement of the handover of the body of an Israeli prisoner that it had found in a tunnel in Khan Yunis, noting that Israeli violations are hindering search, excavation and recovery operations, warning that any new escalation will lead to further delay in handing over the bodies of the dead Israelis.

In a remarkable statement, US Vice President J.D. Vance said that the United States expects an Israeli response after the attack that targeted an Israeli soldier inside Gaza, but at the same time he stressed that the ceasefire is still holding until this moment.

As the bombing continues and the number of casualties increases, Gazans fear that this night will be a prelude to the collapse of the truce and the return of war to the forefront again.
