MÉRIDA.- After a brief illness and at the age of 71, on October 17 at 6:30 in the morning, Mr. Mario Alberto Zaldívar Lópezagricultural engineer with a master’s degree in Economics from Texas A&M University.
He worked in both public and private initiatives, and later as an independent businessman.
Born on December 20, 1953 within the marriage of Messrs. Manuel Reyes Zaldívar Carrillo and Mercedes Virginia López Lizarraga (now deceased), on August 17, 1983 he married Nery Maritza Lira Vado, with whom he had three children: Mario Alberto, Mariana de Preciado and Mauricio Alejandro.
The body was cremated at the Ethernus Funeral Home complex on Friday the 17th at 5:30 p.m. The ashes were deposited in a crypt of the church of the Lord of the Divine Mercy (San Ramón Norte neighborhood) on Tuesday the 21st after the eight o’clock mass.
In addition to his widow and children, he is survived by his political children Gabriela Patricia Medina Flota, Pamela Elizabeth Von Haucke Rivas and Domingo Javier Preciado Álvarez; brothers Marco Antonio, María de las Mercedes, Víctor David, Ermilo José and Laura Alejandra (Manuel Reyes has already passed away); political brothers Fernando Javier, Hernán Roberto, Leonor Marlen de Escalante, Katinka de D’Regil and Carlo Adrián Lira Vado; grandchildren Marcelo and Luciano Preciado Zaldívar, and Mariano Zaldívar Medina; nephews Zaldívar Maria Velez, Zaldívar Cervera, Vallado Zaldívar, Zaldívar Dib, Zaldívar Arjona and Mediero Zaldívar, and other relatives.
