London Waterloo was rammed with thousands of people this evening after a signal failure caused delays and cancellations.
A fault with the signalling system at Clapham Junction has disrupted several lines, National Rail says.
One commuter on X: ‘Utter shambles at London Waterloo tonight.’
Departure boards at Waterloo show dozens of trains in the coming hours as delayed, some by as much as 40 minutes.
South Western Railway is warning riders to expect delays of up to an hour.
Tickets can be refunded, the railway operator says, and commuters can also book taxis.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day, with trains coming to and from Waterloo not stopping at certain stations.
Services between London Waterloo to Shepperton will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Fulwell, calling at Twickenham and Strawberry Hill.
All services from London Waterloo to Wimbledon will not call at Vauxhall and Earlsfield.
