A cause of death has been revealed for Fresh Prince of Bel-Air child actor Floyd Roger Myers, who died early Wednesday morning at 42. Myers’ mother, Renee Trice, confirmed the tragic news to TMZ.
Myers Played a Young Will Smith
Myers, who played the younger version of Will Smith’s character on the hit NBC sitcom, died of a heart attack at his Maryland home on Oct. 29. Trice reported that her son had experienced three heart attacks in the last three years. Myers appeared on a season three episode of Fresh Prince in 1992, playing Smith’s character as a child. That same year, he starred as Marlon Jackson in the made-for-TV biopic The Jacksons: An American Dream, which chronicles the Jackson family’s ascent within the music industry. Myers starred opposite Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs (Joseph Jackson), Angela Bassett (Katherine Jackson), and Alex Burrall (Michael Jackson).

Myers’ Relatives Hailed Him as a ‘Devoted’ Family Member
On a GoFundMe launched by his sister, Tyree Trice, Myers was remembered as “a devoted father, loving brother, and friend whose kindness, laughter, and warmth touched everyone he met.” “Roger leaves behind his four beautiful children—Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler, and Knox—and our loving family is now facing the unimaginable loss of someone who meant everything to us.”

The Fellaship Men’s Group, an organization which Myers co-founded, also paid tribute to the late actor on Instagram. “RIP to our good brother @rocwonder, one of our co founders. Gone but never will be forgotten. The mission will continue in your honor. Next men’s meeting will be one for the books like we talked about! Love you bro, rest easy, big bro will take it from here💪🏾 🙏🏾.”
Myers is survived by his mother, sister, and four children. A funeral will be held on Nov. 3.
