A clip of retired minister Bheki Cele out and about at a groove event has gone viral on social media.
The former police boss was spotted attending a DJ Shimza performance in Durban.
BHEKI CELE SPOTTED AT GROOVE
On social media, a clip of retired minister of police Bheki Cele at a music performance has resurfaced.
The 73-year-old and his wife, Thembeka Ngcobo, was attending a Shimza X Friends event at the Durban Exhibition Centre in September.
In the clip, Bheki – wearing his infamous fedora hat – is seen sitting on a couch, while enjoying a drink. In front of him, likely in a VIP section, were bottles of beverages on ice.
At one point, the former minister signalled a young woman to move out of his way.
Another clip saw Bheki Cele – wearing all black – and his wife dancing in the cordoned off area.
KEEPING FIT
Meanwhile, Bheki Cele has revealed that he has spent much of his free time getting fit.
Making an appearance at last week’s Parliament’s ad hoc committee probing alleged police corruption, the ex-minister revealed that he was at the gym when he discovered news of KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi’s media briefing in July.
Speaking to SABC earlier this year, Bheki Cele revealed that he had chosen a quieter and healthier lifestyle after leaving his stressful job as the minister of police.
He said: “I wake up in the morning and go to the gym — something I’ve missed most of the time. My wife gives me unappetising food; she doesn’t allow me to eat scones. She gives me rabbit food”.
