According to information from the same General Directorate of Works of Azcapotzalco, in 2023 the rehabilitation of the Student Park in a contract that revealed the use of 4 million 141 thousand pesos of public resources.

In the accesses and pedestrian areas that had cobblestone, there are now piles of gravel, sand, excavations, cement mixture, machinery and workers who, when questioned, indicated that they are carrying out the rehabilitation of the park. In addition to the pedestrian traffic area, the green areas are now filled with mud and construction material. While the children’s play area is used as a rest area for the workers and only the canvas is intact.

The same park was one of the last to receive a remodeling by the previous 2021-2024 administration, since the work was carried out in the last months of 2023 and was delivered in 2024 along with other works in parks and public gardens. Even this year, the mayor Nancy Nunez complemented the intervention in parks and gardens with new luminaires as part of its lighting installation policy.

The document of physical progress of works of the mayor’s office Azcapotzalco indicates that the works that were carried out by the company Mareyes SA de CV between 2023 and 2024 included the demolition of the ground, replacement of paving stones, disassembly of games and lamps, similar to the scenario that the park now has under construction.
