This Friday, the program Not Circulating Today, implemented to minimize and control the emission of pollutants that come from automobiles, has restrictions for the following vehicles:
- Vehicles with blue stickers.
- Termination of plates 9 and 0.
- Hologram 1 and 2.
Like every day, they are exempt emergency vehicles, public transportation, electric or hybrid cars with zero or double zero hologram, motorcycles and cars with license plates for people with disabilities.
The Hoy No Circula program is applied from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in all municipalities of Mexico City and in 18 municipalities of the State of Mexico: Atizapán de Zaragoza, Coacalco de Berriozábal, Cuautitlán, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Chalco, Chicoloapan, Chimalhuacán, Ecatepec de Morelos, Huixquilucan, Ixtapaluca, La Paz, Naucalpan de Juárez, Nezahualcóyotl, Nicolás Romero, Tecámac, Tlalnepantla de Baz, Tultitlán and Valle de Chalco.
Ignoring the rule implies fines of 20 to 30 Update Measurement Units (UMA), that is, between 2,262 and 3,394 pesos.
Where to pay the fine for Hoy No Circula?
To cover the fine, violators must obtain and print their ticket from the Ministry of Finance portal and make the corresponding payment. This can be done at authorized banking institutions or at self-service stores. Vehicles will continue to be held until payment is confirmed.
Air quality in Mexico City
This morning, the Atmospheric Monitoring Directorate of Mexico City reported an acceptable level in the Air and Health index, with a moderate risk, that is, unhealthy for sensitive groups.
In its 5:00 a.m. report, all stations showed green (good), except for the Merced station, which was marked yellow (acceptable).
The Atmospheric Monitoring Directorate reports every hour on the quality of the air breathed in the Valley of Mexico, with the aim of warning the population and making the appropriate decisions if pollution becomes a risk.
