Cold front 12: when does it arrive and which states will be affected?

This Friday, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported in its 6:00 am report that The polar air mass generated by cold front 11 will modify its characteristics as the day progresses, allowing a gradual rise in temperatures in much of the Mexican territory. However, a new front is approaching.

On Saturday, November 1, a new cold front, associated with an upper-level trough and the subtropical jet stream, will approach the northern and northeastern border of Mexico. In interaction with a low pressure channel over the northeast and east of the country, this phenomenon will increase the probability of rains and showers in Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas. Wind gusts of 40 to 60 km/h are also expected in these states.

Because of his career, The effects of the cold front will be felt in Durango, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz, the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Campeche and Yucatán with wind gusts of between 60 and 80 km/h.

Starting on Sunday, the cold front will move over the Gulf of Mexico in interaction with a low pressure channel that will extend over the west of said Gulf. This will cause showers and heavy rains in the northeast, east and southeast of the country, as well as in the Yucatan Peninsula.

The cold air mass associated with the front will cause a drop in temperatures in the northern, northeastern, eastern and central states of the national territory, as well as a new “North” event, with gusts of 60 to 80 km/h in Tamaulipas, Veracruz, the Isthmus and the Gulf of Tehuantepec.

Regarding this day, the SMN reported that the cold to very cold environment will continue during the morning and night, with frost in states of the Northern Table, the Central Table and the east of the country.

Minimum temperatures of -5 to 0 °C are expected in mountain areas of Baja California, Chihuahua, Durango, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Tlaxcala, Puebla and Veracruz; and from 0 to 5 °C in mountain areas of Sonora, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Michoacán, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Morelos and Oaxaca.
