Mexico City, October 31 (However).- This weekend one of the most anticipated celebrations takes place in the Mexican capital: Day of the Dead, so there will be parades, altars and activities to enjoy this tradition.

Monumental Offering
The Plaza de la Constitución in Mexico City is the setting for the Monumental Offering, which this year has a centerpiece dedicated to Tonantzin, as well as other figures that represent Cuerauáperi and Xonaxi Quecuya among others that symbolize fertility and the feminine. This Monumental Offering was carried out by the Zion Art Studio collective.
In the offering, the marigold flowers stand out, these were grown in Xochimilco and Tláhuac, there are also other figures such as axolotls, jaguars and a xoloitzcuintle.

Great Day of the Dead parade
It is November 1 The Great Day of the Dead parade will take place, it will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will depart from the Puerta de los Leones del Bosque de Chapultepec, take Paseo de la Reforma, pass through the Glorieta de la Diana Cazadora and the Ángel de la Independencia, continue along Avenida Juárez and pass in front of the Palace of Fine Arts; You will continue along Calle 5 de Mayo until you reach the Plaza de la Constitución.

Altar dedicated to Amalia Hernández
The University of the Cloister of Sor Juana (UCSJ) pays tribute to Amalia Hernández with its Altar of the Dead 2025, which represents one of the dance paintings that the Ballet Folklorico de México has brought to the stage: “Las Amarillas”, from the Tierra Caliente region of Guerrero
The altar built by students of El Claustro, under the guidance of the cardboard artist Irving Mondragón, the set designer Pablo Marín and the researcher Armando Valdivieso (in relation to the costumes), as well as Hernán Cortés Cerón in the lighting, is a visual and sound tribute to the work and legacy of the outstanding Mexican choreographer.
The Altar will be open to the public until November 7. Their hours are: Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; On November 1 and 2 the doors will be open until 8 p.m.

Calacas Fair
The National Center for the Arts (Cenart) celebrates 25 years of the Calacas Fair with art, tradition and imagination. UNAM Mega Offering
The UNAM Mega Offering is part of the Day of the Dead University Festival, which this year is titled “Traces of our history. Migrations, exiles, refuge and displacements.”

Megaofrenda 2025, can be a crucible for the university community and the general public to recognize this problem that, whether for political or even climatic reasons, continues to be a daily reality in the present century. Candlelight celebrates the Day of the Dead and
The Candlelight musical experience will have special performances for Day of the Dead: October 31 at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., and November 1 at 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The concert will take place in El Cantoral and will be performed live by a local string quartet and will be illuminated by thousands of LED candles, creating a magical atmosphere full of mystery.
