Early morning today in the Porto district was “calmer” and with no significant events to be recorded, a source from the Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of the Porto Metropolitan Area told Lusa.
According to the same source, today’s dawn was “in no way” compared to the dawn of Thursday to Friday, in which intense rains and several floods were recorded throughout the Porto district, with the “most critical” occurrence being recorded on Via de Cintura Interna (VCI), where it was necessary to rescue an elderly woman, and traffic circulation in the Bessa and AEP roundabout tunnels, and in Campo Alegre, was cut off.
The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) predicts a gradual improvement in the weather and, in the North, the sky is expected to be very cloudy, with open areas on the coast from the morning onwards and inland from the afternoon onwards.
In this region, due to the rain, the districts of Bragança, Porto, and Vila Real are under yellow warning.
