US fast food chain that’s ‘easily better than McDonald’s & Burger King’ confirms first UK restaurant locations

A HUGELY popular US fast food chain has revealed where it’s set to open up locations across the UK.

Carl’s Jr. currently has one restaurant open in Cardiff, Wales, but it’s expecting to open six more locations this year – including its first branches in England.

Fast food fans have been raving about its tasty burgers, with some saying it’s “easily better” than McDonald’s and Burger King.

The chain has now revealed exclusively to The Sun that its next locations will be Swansea, Southampton, Bristol, Manchester, York and Leeds.

The Swansea restaurant is set to open in late August, while the chain is likely to land in Southampton and Manchester around October.

No dates have been confirmed yet for the remaining restaurants.

It’s part of plans to open up 100 restaurants across the UK within the next five years.

Details have not been shared yet on when and where the next locations could open.

In even more exciting news, Carl’s Jr. has said it will be launching a new burger at the end of the month as part of its summer menu.

Plus, all the new locations will include a breakfast menu and be available on Uber Eats for delivery.

Carl’s Jr. was first founded in 1941 and operates more than 1,000 locations across the USA and in 28 other countries.

It’s known for its iconic burgers like the Western Bacon Cheeseburger and the Famous Star, as well as its ice cream shakes.


The chain has a huge following across the world and some customers say they prefer it to other major chains.

Reddit users have been praising the chain, with one person saying its burgers are “significantly better than anything McDonald’s or Burger King could do”.

Another commenter wrote: “Carls JR is easily better than McDonald’s Burger King and probably most of the other American fast food chains you have currently in the United Kingdom.”

Meanwhile a reviewer of the Cardiff restaurant said it had the “best burger I’ve ever had”.

Which US chains are opening more restaurants?

Carl’s Jr. is not the only US fast food chain to expand into the UK recently.

Just last week Popeyes revealed it had secured millions of pounds to help it open 45 new restaurants across the country.

The chain is famous for its crispy fried chicken and already opened 33 locations across the country last year.

Meanwhile Chick-fil-A opened the first of five new UK restaurants back in January.

The restaurant opened inside an Applegreen service station in Lisburn, County Antrim, on the Lisburn South motorway.

It confirmed to The Sun previously it would launch in Northern Ireland, Leeds, Liverpool and London.

Major chain Wingstop also has plans to open 20 more UK sites this year.

These include dine-in restaurants in SwanseaNewcastle, Lakeside shopping centre in Essex, Streatham in South London and Cardigan Fields in Leeds.

Plus, family entertainment and dining centre Chuck E Cheese is reportedly planning to launch six branches across England and Scotland.

It has targeted Milton KeynesGlasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol as possible locations.

Tex-Mex brand Velvet Taco is also set to make its UK debut soon.

The brand will be opening its first restaurant in Piccadilly Circus, London, and has said it will open more UK sites in the coming years.
