One of Netflix’s biggest shows of all time is set to reveal its grand conclusion this year, but one of the series’ breakout stars is already looking forward to the next portion of their life.
In the near decade that ‘Stranger Things’ has dominated the pop culture landscape, actress Millie Bobby Brown has become the show’s most prominent figure. Brown has parlayed her success into expansive and lucrative roles, collaborating with other top names in the film industry on movies like “Enola Holmes” and the “The Electric State.”
“Stranger Things” may be coming to a permanent end over the next few weeks on Netflix, but Brown’s comments in a recent interview suggest that she’s ready to move on to different pursuits.
Millie’s Name Change After Marriage
During an interview with VT, Brown and her co-star Noah Schnapp were asked to answer questions about one another. Schnapp was asked to give Brown’s full name, and replied with “Millie Bonnie Brown.”
The 21-year-old actress corrected her longtime co-star, telling him that her name changed after she got married.
“Millie Bonnie Bongiovi Brown,” Schnapp guessed.
“Drop the Bobby, drop the Brown. It’s just Millie Bonnie Bongiovi,” the actress said. “That’s it.”
Brown began a relationship with fellow actor Jake Bongiovi in 2021. After three years of dating, they married in May of 2024. Earlier this year, the couple announced that they welcomed their first child through adoption.
Bongiovi is the son of legendary musician Jon Bon Jovi, and has appeared in a number of films. He has a role in “Euphoria” star Maude Apatow’s directorial film debut “Poetic License,” which is set for a wide release next summer.
After the end of “Stranger Things,” Brown is set to star in the third installment of the “Enola Holmes” franchise, and she is also set to appear in “Just Picture It,” a romantic comedy which will also feature Gabriel LaBelle of “The Fablemans.”
Brown, Schnapp Prepare to End ‘Stranger Things’
The fifth and final season of “Stranger Things” premiered last week with an initial four-episode drop. An additional three episodes will be released on Christmas Day, and the series finale will be released on New Year’s Eve.
The finale will be shown in hundreds of theaters on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, giving fans the chance to watch the final episode on the big screen.
“We’re beyond excited that fans will have the chance to experience the final episode of Stranger Things in theaters — it’s something we’ve dreamed about for years, and we’re so grateful to Ted, Bela and everyone at Netflix for making it happen,” the Duffer Brothers said in a statement.
