Southern Silver Exploration Corp., a company listed on Canada’s TSX Venture Exchange, recently reported encouraging drill results from its Cerro Las Minitas project in Durango, Mexico. These results show high silver values, indicating the potential for further significant discoveries. Of particular note is one hole that intersected a 10.5 meter interval averaging 1,115 grams per tonne silver equivalent.
A notable section of this hole even reached values of 1,982 grams per tonne silver equivalent, raising hopes for a fruitful continuation of exploration work. These results come from hole 25CLM-203, which also discovered deeper zones of mineralization. Analysis of samples from these deeper skarn mineralizations is still pending, increasing anticipation for further results.
Vice President of Exploration, Rob Macdonald, expressed optimism about the successful start of the drilling campaign and expects continued productive results through 2026. In parallel, zones adjacent to the historic Santo Nino mining sites were evaluated, with encouraging silver and bleach values also being identified. This progress already covers almost 40% of the entire project planning, as ten of 21 planned wells have been completed.
Once all drilling is complete, Southern Silver plans to incorporate lessons learned into the larger Cerro Las Minitas project and update economic estimates. The Company aims to fully exploit the immense potential of the silver, lead and zinc deposits while conducting important environmental and safety investigations. The high quality of the exploration data to date gives hope for the successful continuation of the project.
