Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) is about to take drunken generosity to a new level in EastEnders.
Alcohol does tend to make people more generous. We’ve all dropped a few quid on a round of shots for the new bestie we’ve just made in the toilets, haven’t we? The bestie we’ll absolutely never seen again.
Kim takes it a step further, though, in the aftermath of a pretty dramatic engagement party.
At the start of next week, the former Kimfluencer is overjoyed when her love, Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson) proposes to her as the Square’s Christmas lights twinkle in the background.
‘Kim has been really down – the Kimfluencer did not expect to be cancelled!’ Tameka explained. ‘She’s not been herself at all, so for Howie to spring a big, romantic surprise like this lifts her up. Howie plays a blinder because he gets the kids involved and does this big, public proposal at the Christmas lights switch on.
‘He puts Kim in the spotlight, which is where she loves to be. Kim loves love, she loves joy and the ring is amazing, so the fact that she feels treated and seen by her man makes the whole proposal perfect.’
Suffice to say, by the end of the week, Kim is feeling a little less than overjoyed. A lot less, actually.
With Howie currently concealing a ruck of secrets, including his involvement in the burglary that devastated Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) and his new habit of stealing valuables from the parcels he’s delivering, and Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) deeply suspicious of him, it seems as though Kim might be in for one hell of a shock.
While we won’t reveal exactly what happens, poor Kim ends up in the Vic, where she turns to the bottle for a bit of solace. As one glass quickly turns into another, an uninhibited Kim makes the incredibly generous offer to Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) to sell her car to aid her Christmas raffle.
Unfortunately, she completely forgets the next day and when Yolande reminds her the day after, Kim is utterly floored.
