A NSW Government employee will face court later this month after being accused of drink-driving.

A NSW Police spokesperson said that at about 2:50 pm yesterday (2 December), officers attached to the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were patrolling in the Bemboka area about 35 km west of Bega when it was reported a Toyota Prado was allegedly driving dangerously.

Following a search of the area, officers found the Toyota parked on the Snowy Mountains Highway at about 3:50 pm.

A 55-year-old man, who police say is employed by the NSW Government as a driver, was subjected to a roadside breath test.

He allegedly returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Bega Police Station, where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.183.

Police charged him with driving with a high range PCA and his licence was suspended.

The 55-year-old was issued a court attendance notice to appear before Bega Local Court on 23 December.
