Manuel João Vieira claims to be in a position to formalize his candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic and returned to television, after an interview with SIC Notícias that stirred public opinion.
The Ena Pá 2000 musician, who gave a concert-rally in Leiria over the weekend, was this time at CNN Portugal reiterate some of his most unusual proposals, such as the installation of “a wine tap in every Portuguese home, a biblical thing” or the technological instrument capable of solving problems in an instant.
Regarding channeled wine, he recalled: “We are a country where it has been said that wine fed more than a million Portuguese people.” “All I need is a phone call or two to solve this problem”, concluded the artist who had previously played Candidate Vieira several times, even though he had never actually been a candidate.
In search of solutions, Vieira promises to “create a city in the geodesic center of Portugal, close to Vila de Rei”. In this new city, already named Vieirópolis, “each person who has a problem just has to press a button that says ‘solve’”. “There is a whole logistics of interfaces. It’s a bit like a smart home”, he adds.

Looking at the global scenario, he analyzes: “We are in the era of global warming, we are once again having a cold and hot war at the same time and we are once again having a live Holocaust.” He later states: “I am against Russia’s occupation of Ukrainian territory.” Regarding Gaza, he conspires: “Israel bought Hamas to prevent there from being two states. The result is this.”
“I am against war and for peace, like Jesus Christ”clarifies. “We have to move away from the centers of evil and think about the good. The earth is rich enough for everyone to live in peace and technology can allow us to do that. But human beings, instead, are betting on evil”, he laments.
It points to a ‘slide’ of voting to the right, in global terms: “Even Macron now seems left-wing, compared to our friend Donald Trump, the guy who makes phone calls and ends things.”
Returning to positioning himself in the “extreme center”, he argues that “Portugal’s strength is at the center, in the heart”. In a quick look at recent electoral results, he considers that “people don’t know what they are doing”. “They are betting more on the doll than on the substance”, he emphasizes. “A person leaves one party and joins another to say they are outside the system? It’s a trick. They are completely within the system.
