This in what is expected to be a seen where Chiefs rebuild their squad in an attempt to reclaim the glory days.
Chiefs working on a squad restructure
There have been quite a few rumours with regards to who Chiefs are targeting. But before those players come in, they’re moving quickly to free up some space. Last week, they announced the departures of academy products Sabelo Radebe and Njabulo Blom. Following that, they have now confirmed the release of striker Ranga Chivaviro. The names of Tebogo Potsane, Mduduzi Mdantsane and George Matlou have also been touted for an exit.
With previous reports claiming that Chiefs and Matlou were not in any contract negotiations, things may have changed. According to Unplayable on X, He is set to be part of the group that will travel to the Netherlands. This for Amakhosi’s pre-season preparations.
Matlou set to survive the chop?

#UNPLAYABLE can confirm midfielder George Matlou is on the list of Kaizer Chiefs players teavelling to the Netherlands for pre-season.
Recent reports suggested he could be leaving the club, but he will travel with the team.
#Amakhosi4Life” they posted on their official X account.
That would represent a turnaround for Matlou and his future at Chiefs. Him going on pre-season can only happen if he is given a new contract at the club going into the new season. This because his current deal is set to expire at the end of the month. Just last season he was in a similar predicament before he was offered a new one-year deal.
